Meet The Team

Each of us bring our own strengths to the table but together, we're able to tackle any challenge that may come our way!

All of us grew up in Ontario and have had first-hand experience with completing volunteering hours to graduate from high school. We each faced our own set of challenges, which inspired us to create MyTime. We are committed to improving the process for the future generations.

About

Our Journey

A brief glimpse into our exploration and implementation process

Understand
OSSD Requirements

High school students must complete a minimum of 40 community service hours to receive their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

Volunteering mandate strengthens the community and provides students opportunities to reinforce civic responsibility, develop new skills and gain confidence.

Identify Bottlenecks

Build
MyTime

Design an NLP-based software tool that connects students with their community, based on required skills and personal interests. â€‹

Strategically designed for all stakeholders involved - students, volunteer organizations, and high schools.

Lack of coordination between schools, students & volunteering organizations results in an inefficient and challenging process for students to partake in.

Mismatch in skills make it challenging for students to find positions they enjoy, and organizations to find qualified applicants.

Hassle in tracking hours create inefficient processes that leave room for assumptions and errors.

Design Verification & Validation

Conduct cognitive walkthroughs and surveys to confirm that our tool meets respective specifications and fulfills its intended purposes.

Iteratively improve tool prototypes based on feedback and experiences from stakeholders.

Tested and validated by students and volunteer organizations.
